Colonel Alexander Glushchenko, a Saratov region native, was discharged in 2007 but has not received an apartment despite two court orders to local officials to provide him with housing, he wrote on his blog, Superbomj.
Glushchenko, who is living in a tent in a Saratov region forest, started a hunger strike Dec. 29 and threatened self-immolation on Red Square if his demands are not met.
Committee head Alexander Bastrykin ordered his agency to review Glushchenko’s claim, saying a case may be opened.
